There are TONS of amazing WordPress plugins! If you’re brand new to blogging, you may not know how to install those awesome plugins (or what a plugin is) and that’s okay! I created this tutorial to explain plugins and teach you how to install them, step by step! Let’s do this!
What is a Plugin?
A WordPress plugin is a bit like an app for your phone. It allows you add features to WordPress that you would otherwise have to code in. Like table of contents, sign up forms, and photo sliders!
Now, let’s look at how to install plugins!
1. Login to WordPress
2. Click on Plugins
On the left-hand bottom of your WordPress dashboard, click Plugins.
3. Click Add New
In the upper left-hand side of the screen, click Add New.
4. Search
Go to the search box on the right-hand side of the screen and type in the name of the plugin you’re looking for.
5. Click Install Now
Within the search results, click on Install Now.
6. Click Activate
The install now button will change to an icon that says Activate. Click it.
7. Done!
When you are finished, you will be taken back to your plugins page where your newly installed plugin is now listed!
